Happy Monday ~ I know you may be saying, “What’s so happy about Monday?”. Well for me - it’s the start of a new week and the possibility to get stuff done and create something new. Taking time off from the stress of being boss, a solopreneur (or whatever title fits for you) is so important in keeping yourself on track. I try and take the weekends off or at least have a light work load so I can spend time with my husband and boys while they are free from the school day and work week. It’s summer now and it’s a whole new schedule to deal with, summers are a little tricky with juggling work/life into the mix (a blog post for another time, maybe).  Staying on task for some people (myself included) might be a struggle if you’re feeling overwhelmed by it all. I actually start my Monday on Sunday night because it helps me get in the mindset and organize myself for the beginning of the work week. I am flexible so if Sunday turns out to be busier than expected I just go with the flow and wake up earlier on Monday to start off with a more focused mindset. While we are on the bandwagon of making Mondays happy, I have a list of apps to share with you that might help keep you grounded and focused for the workweek ahead.

Here are a few to check out and see if they are a good fit for you. I hope your Mondays will be ever happy! Have a great week.

Meditation Apps for iPhone:
Calm: You can schedule reminders to take breaks
DeepCalm: Helps relax & sleep

Team/work flow Apps:
Asana ~ iPhone: is a project management app
Slack ~  iPhone/computer: is a messaging app

Productivity:
Evernote ~ organizational app sync with iPhone and Mac computer
Hootsuite ~ scheduling social media posts - sync with iPhone and Mac computer
Dropbox ~ File save and share

{Personal Post} I Want To Be A Rockstar In My Business!

We all want to be a ROCK STAR in our business, am I right! How do we ROCK IT OUT when all we want to do is hide under a rock some days.  My journey to this point has had ups and downs, obstacles to overcome and strength within to see me through. Ya know it's hard being BOSS ~ boss of one (myself) can be daunting at times. I like the idea of being a rock star even though I don't feel like it most days. The idea of it is fun and keeps me from falling into the perpetual loop in my head that lacks the confidants to pull off "being boss". I love finding inspiration in my day to day it keeps me grounded and moving forward. I recently took my youngest son to a kids museum where they had an exhibit on GUITAR~The Instrument That Rocked The World. Stepping out and away from my hustle of being boss lady helps me get a different perspective on things and clears my head. This day ~ a neon pink and green guitar reminding me to stay strong and move forward. BE A ROCKSTAR! So, if you could be a rock star who would it be? Gwen Stefani comes to my mind. I think she rocks. Now excuse me while I rock-out to some iTunes and dance around the room!

So now What...Branding Your Business for Success.

So now what...You have a great idea for a business and you have decided to go out on your own and open this wonderful business. Your thinking of starting with a fabulous pink and glittery logo...Oh what ~ WAIT A SECOND ~ Do you have a clear brand message, do you know who your dream client or customer is? There is a lot that goes into creating a lasting brand. Before you even get to the design phase of your brand let's explore your purpose, strengths and values of your business.  If you have these core attributes down before you head to the graphic designer it will be easier to communicate with him/her even though you do not have a clear visual direction your brand looks and feels like.  Creating a lasting brand is not just the sum of logo, website and print media, it's the entire system that will uplift your business with a strong foundation. Think for a moment about these core attributes and take pen to paper and write down what positive impact your product/service will have on the world, who is your target market and what are your strengths, value and purpose.  Remember your brand is derived from WHO YOU ARE, WHO YOU WANT TO BE, MORE IMPORTANTLY WHO PEOPLE PERCEIVE YOU TO BE. Think of it like this ~ Your brand is your promise to your customer, it tells them what they can expect from your products and services, ultimately your BRAND differentiates your offerings from your competitors. The above thought process can also work for businesses that want to re-brand themselves. We will discussed this topic more in future posts.
