Lovely Finds Friday ~ Recipe for Caesar Salad (without egg)

We are an egg free house due to my older son's severe egg allergy. My husband and I love Caesar Salad but we don't like the raw egg. This is not a problem because my mother-in-law handed down her no egg Caesar Salad recipe. Honestly, you don't even miss the raw egg. It is so yummy. I hope you enjoy.

Ingredients

Dressing:
6 tablespoons of olive oil
3 tablespoons of white wine vinegar
1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon of salt (optional)
1/4 teaspoon of dry mustard
1 to 2 cloves of crushed garlic (a garlic press works best)
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
Freshly ground white pepper
1 cup of freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 head of romaine lettuce

Directions:
Make the dressing: Begin by rubbing a clove of garlic over the inside of a wooden salad bowl. Mix together in the bowl the first eight ingredients in the order listed above. Stir until all eight ingredients are well combined. Then, add one cup of freshly grated Parmesan cheese to the mixture and stir. It will make a thick paste.
Assemble the salad: Tear the lettuce into large wooden bowl with the dressing.  Toss well. Serve immediately.

Have a great weekend!

Working Wednesday/Sneak Peek ~ Back to School Collection

I am thinking ahead to when my boys go back to school and gearing up for the new school year.  New school supplies, clothes and shoes are on my list of things to buy before the big day.  It's hard to believe that we are half way through summer! Before the summer ends, I would love to have a back to school party for M and J. As I was dreaming up this party I thought, of course, I would have to design the printables. Here is a sneak peek at the collection. Stay tuned for the photo-shoot.

Look Book Monday ~ The Blueberry Festival at Old Orchard Creek Farm

Happy Monday all!   This weekend was a treat for me to get away from the computer and my work.  I just had to share this incredible experience.  We attended The Blueberry Festival at Old Orchard Creek Farm to benefit the Blue Ridge Conservancy. My husband, mother-in-law and two boys took a drive to the mountains to pick blueberries, see the beautiful farm, listen to some great music by Martha Bassett and Kennebec and to support the Blue Ridge Conservancy. We enjoyed homemade pizza from Good Wood Pizza and Blueberry Cobbler from Faith Mountain Farm. I hope you enjoy some of this snapshots I took on my phone.

Have a great week!

Lovely Finds Friday ~ Featuring The Lovely JadeRose Boutique

Good morning friends,

It's Lovely Finds Friday!

Please welcome Betti of JadeRoseBoutique.etsy.com. She makes the most unique and beautiful crocheted flower earrings and jewelry I have ever seen. Betti said she has been making these lovely crocheted flower earrings since she was in high school. I guess they call it vintage nowadays. Ever since Betti can remember, she has been sewing, crocheting, and creating things for herself, her sisters, and even her dolls. She studied art and design for many years. Now that she is retired, she is free to make what she wants when she wants. She sews, makes jewelry, crochets and designs patterns. Often what she makes depends on what she has on hand such as beads, fabric, or material someone gives her or what she finds on sale. She said her best ideas come when she make accessories, cards, and jewelry for people she loves. Many of her crochet patterns are gifts that she made for her daughter and family.

Betti is passionate about what she creates and equally about giving back. She donates a portion of her profits to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Betti has a rare form of muscular dystrophy, so she makes sure that she does not overdo it when she is creating. She paces herself and only makes what she feels tickles her fancy.  She sews or make jewelry until she need to rest, then she crochets and designs patterns.

Follow her blog at www.JadeRoseBoutique.blogspot.com, where she post a daily inspirational quote as well as tips for living with a disability, free crochet patterns, and free instructions for various projects related to health issues.

Feature: Rocket Birthday Party ~ Max's First Birthday Party Celebration!

It all started with an invitation. A rocket invitation to be exact. A sweet little boy celebrates his first birthday with an out of this world celebration.

THE BIRTHDAY INVITATION!

A small gathering of friends is always an intimate affair. Just because it's a small party doesn't mean it has to be boring one. Throw a little zing into a party with the details. The details are what make a party special, whether it's in your home or someplace else. All you need are some crafty hands, a little time and my printable collection to have a rockin' good time like Max had at his one year birthday party.

THE SETTING.

Max's birthday setting was at home, a perfect place to have a party for a one year old. The food and dessert was set up buffet style so the hostess could enjoy the party along with her guests. The cupcakes were homemade with love.

LET THE PARTY BEGIN!

A birthday is always fun to celebrate. I am so happy that I was able to be a part of making this birthday special for an out of this world terrific little one year old!

Have a great week!

I love bath soaps and I could spend a fortune buying them just so I can smell good. Well, today you are in for a treat. My lovely find features the fabulous Bugs and Bubbles Soap Company . It is owned and operated by Dawn, who has a passion for making hand made luxurious soaps that are fun and affordable. She believes everyone deserves to feel pampered but you should not have to spend a fortune doing it. Her products are designed to pamper without making you feel guilty. There is a soap for everyone and she always puts a bit of fun into every project she works on.

The Bugs and Bubbles Soap Company's goal is to keep the ingredients all natural and of the highest quality to ensure customer satisfaction.  Dawn creates soaps that benefit a variety of skin types and are gentle on the skin. She has a variety of soaps to choose from but today I will highlight some of my favorites.

In the spirit of Independence day here is a bar of soap that can't be missed. I would love to put this bar of soap in my boy's bathroom. They would love it and I think it would inspire them to wash more.

Look Book Monday ~ How To Train Your Dragon Party Invitation Tutorial

My original drawing of Toothless

My son is hooked on the movie How To Train Your Dragon. We rented it one night and a week later we still had the movie! Well, I decided to buy the movie since he liked it so much. He continues to watch it over and over again. He even pretends he is a dragon with the sound effects and all. It is cute. My older son decides he likes the movie too and starts watching it, so another cycle begins. Although he is more interested in the other features the DVD has, like the back story, games and a tutorial of how to draw Toothless, the dragon character. My son and I watch the tutorial and he asks me to draw Toothless for him. After I was done, I thought it would be fun to design an invitation around the character Toothless and use it for my younger son's birthday because he loves this character so much. This is what I have so far.  What do you think? Would you like this invitation collection as a FEEBIE?

If there is enough interest in this invitation design, I would love to share it.  Leave me a comment and let me know if you or someone you know would like this invitation. I will put it on my SCRIBD account for FREE Download.

Thanks, and have a great week!

Lovely Finds Friday ~ TG Bears

Please allow me to introduce TG Bears, my lovely find today. The artisan, Monica, who creates these one of a kind bears, takes great pride in crafting each bear so that it's beautiful and safe for all to enjoy. I love her Shop for the unique selection of bears she has to offer.

If you prefer a custom bear for a specific occasion or person, she would be happy to create the perfect teddy bear to fit your needs. For example, she made a teddy at the request of Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino as a Mrs. Maine International 2011 contestant. The bear can be seen at http://www.tallguysties.com/bears/CustomBears.aspx.

All TG Bears are fully jointed, meaning that their hips and shoulders move. Wow, you can pose them seated, standing, waving or a combination of all these. Monica can personalize your teddy bear for you with a name or anything else up to 10 characters, which she embroiders on the sole of the teddy's right foot.

Monica's adorable bears are an ideal gift. The Duty Bear is an ideal gift for anyone that is serving or has served our country. This bear comes dressed in a camouflage outfit, complete with backpack. You can also add a name to the left side pocket to further personalize this bear.

Read how her bears come to life in a story about Theodore Bear's travels and all the friends he meets along the way.  http://tgbears.blogspot.com.

Have a great weekend!
